I sell Pillow covers here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrairiePillows
I sell my quilts because it has been my passion since I was introduced to it. I knew this was a hobby that I was not going to quilt and because of that I may as well try make some money to support it! I sell the Pillow covers because it is relaxing after a long day at work or school!
When and how you got started?
I have always loved sewing and then when I got introduced to Quilting almost three years ago I got hooked. Sewing the pillow covers came later on when my Aunt offered to let me take over her shop. Then I realized how relaxing sewing the pillow covers was. Rather than having to figure things when making my own pattern or design, I can just sit down and almost mindlessly sew something beautiful.
How did you decide on your shop name?
I knew I had to come up with something unique so every time I had an idea I typed it into Etsy and Google, most often being disapointed because there was someone in direct competition who had the same or similar name. Finally I thought of the name Praire Pillows and when I checked it out, no one else had the name. This got me excited and I decided to try the name Prairie Quilts and did not find anything there either. Because of that I decided that this was what I had to name my Pillow Cover shop (and rename my Quilt shop). I feel that this name fits me because I grew up in southern Alberta
I enjoy making the white textured pillows best. While they are still simple the texture makes them stand out. They look good on almost anything!
What’s your favourite part of the selling experience?
I love getting the positive feedback from my customers letting me know that they have recieved and love what they have purchased. Sewing up the pillow covers and packaging them up to be sent away would be a close second though.
Do you have a day job?
I work at The Fabric Addict, a wonderful little quilt shop in Lethbridge Alberta. It is the place I can blame for getting me addicted to fabric :)
Are there other crafts you’d like to try?
Because I am still in school I thing it would be better for me not to even think about trying anything new! maybe once I have my degree I will have a few ideas though!
Please provide 5 random facts about yourself to help the team get to know you better. Thank you!
2. I am studying to be an accountant. Always loved working with numbers!
3. I aspire to become the owner of my own little fabric shop someday. I am thinking something bright and colorful to match all the vibrant fabrics I would like to sell. I would love to be able to focus it on getting teenagers and young mothers interested in quilting!
4. My Ideal day would include sewing all day and getting everything that I want to do done, but then dont we all want that?
5. Last but not least, I love to travel. Someday, I hope to be able to drive to every state and province in the US and Canada (with the exception of Hawai, I will be happy enough just to fly there). As it is I have managed to go to 12 States and only 2 Provinces (counting Alberta).

Great work. I need someone to watch quilt...it seems mysterious how little pieces of fabric end up becoming one big piece again.
